Overview

Old Baguio Heritage Cafe and Restaurant offers a genuine taste of Cordilleran culture right in the heart of Quezon City. Nestled on the second floor of Kalayaan Centrepointe Building at the corner of V. Luna and Kalayaan Avenue, this restaurant captures the essence of Baguio’s culinary heritage through both its menu and ambiance. The space greets you with a cozy, warmly lit interior that evokes the nostalgic charm of the Cordillera region, making it an inviting spot for families, friends, and anyone longing for a slice of Northern Luzon.

The highlight here is the thoughtfully curated menu that balances traditional Baguio flavors with modern twists. Signature dishes like Vizco’s Strawberry Shortcake and the indulgent Bibingka Cheesecake pay homage to local pastry favorites, while savory options such as Bagnet Sinigang and Bagnet Binagoongan offer rich, hearty experiences that speak to the regional palate. Breakfast lovers will find the Luzviminda Breakfast Platter and Cordilleran Omelet both filling and flavorful, perfect for starting the day with familiar, comforting tastes.

Noteworthy as well are the distinct dressings served alongside fresh salads—such as the Strawberry Tapuey Vinaigrette—which elevate the greens with a subtle, fruity tang, complementing the invigorating Mixed Greens & Strawberries Vinaigrette Salad. For pasta enthusiasts, handcrafted dishes like the Cajun-spiced Chicken pasta and the creamy Alfredo with Kiniing flakes provide satisfying, unique plate options that maintain the heritage theme without straying into ordinary.

Service here consistently receives praise for being warm and attentive. Diners appreciate the friendly staff who enhance the dining experience with genuine hospitality, turning each visit into a leisurely exploration of Baguio’s culinary heritage. Live acoustic performances further enrich the atmosphere, blending well with the laid-back vibe and encouraging guests to relax and even join in the entertainment if they wish.

Though some note that food can take time during busier hours, this seemingly slow rhythm reflects the kitchen’s dedication to preparing each dish with care, favoring quality over speed. Portion sizes justify the pricing, making it a worthy indulgence for those seeking authentic flavors spun with care. The spot is ideal for those nostalgic for Baguio’s distinct culinary offerings or for anyone eager to delve into regional Filipino fare in a calm, inviting setting.

Whether you come for Vizco’s famous strawberry shortcake, a comforting cup of Chocolate de Batirol, or a hearty plate of Bagnet Sinigang, Old Baguio Heritage Cafe and Restaurant stands out as a beacon of tradition and flavor amid the urban bustle. It invites you to experience a local gem where every bite tells a story of Northern Luzon’s rich food culture.

I have been seeing a lot of reviews about this restaurant and got curious. I lived in Baguio most of my college days, so when I heard that they offer here most of my favorite pastries and Baguio delicacies I decided to give this place a visit. We had strawberry taho and clubhouse etag plus brewed coffee. The ambiance feels cozy with its nice interior. The staff are very nice too. Will def come back to try other treats.

One of the few places you can get Vizco's famous Strawberry Shortcake in the metro - the cafe is located at the second floor of the building at the corner of V Luna and Kalayaan close to Teacher's Village. Staff was friendly and accomodating. The cake of course, was flawless and tasted great. We also got a clubhouse sandwich. It's big enough for two. The chips that came with it were actually really good. Clubhouse was also good.

Food is very good, albeit pricey. So you should prepare your wallet. I think they only have 1 chef though, because the food takes a long time before it comes out and not all at the same time, so if you ordered a lot, the obvious effect is that you'll get a feeling of fullness before you even get to taste everything. The cordilleran rice (i think that's what it's called on the menu) is very good, so if you have a group more than 5, make sure to order 2 right away because it will be gone in an instant. The staff are very accommodating though, and they have a live singer and guitarist on site where you may request some songs, or even sing one yourselves if you're feeling up to it.

It makes you feel like you're in Baguio with the aesthetic interior. The food has large servings and justifies the price. Will definitely comeback and try their other entrees on the menu. A must try is their Batirol drink (chocolate)

Full disclosure: I've only ordered desserts for dine in and take out here, but they've never failed to disappoint. The Strawberry Shortcake is a must-try.
